How to Install an Outside HDTV Antenna

In order to get the best reception, you need to tune the antenna of your HDTV (High-definition digital TV) just like the analog signals of the older television models. If you keep the antenna outside, there is higher possibility of receiving good quality signals with little interference. You can receive signals from stations situated even at long distances. Since some channels are available for customers only over digital medium waves, this antenna is useful even for people who already use satellite or cable service.

You need to mount the mast of your HDTV Antenna to a safe location on the roof of your house or apartment in such a way that there is no interference of electrical wires or tree branches. Consult the manual for the mounting procedure and construct the antennaby assembling it according to the instructions provided. You need to fix the antenna first before adjusting it.

Connect the coaxial cable to the output port of your antenna and run this cable into your home to connect it to your TV. This may require you to drill small holes in the wall of your house. Now turn on the TV and scan for the available channels using the remote control. The antenna scans and picks up the channels that it is able to receive. With the help of a person who adjusts the antenna simultaneously at the roof, adjust the signal strength using the menu and also find out the best optimum position for each of the channels of your choice. You need to then secure this position of your antenna using the mounting fasteners.
